Italian helmet M33 or model 1933 of the partisans of the Garibaldi Brigade.
Italian helmet with original painting of the Garibaldi Brigade or Brigata Garibaldi. The “Garibaldi” Assault Brigades were linked to the Communist Party and participated as part of the Italian resistance from 1943, being the largest unit. Late in the war, many partisan units painted red stars and other related emblems on their helmets as a distinguishing feature.
The helmet is an M1933 with a first model dark interior and a first model leather chinstrap.
The interior fastening rivets were changed to paint the hull green to replace the gray color and the royal emblem painted on the fontal.
It is marked with the royal crown and “AT”, referring to the royal period (before 1946) and the Torino Arsenal.
