Yosegaki Hinomaru (寄せ書き日の丸) or WW2 Japanese Good Luck Flag.
These national flags were signed by friends, family and/or co-workers with messages honoring the Emperor, favoring victory or giving good luck.
This flag made of silk contains numerous signatures and messages, more than 130 in total. Among them you can read “Long live and good luck, warrior”, “Down with America and the Great Britain” or “Sure Victory”.
It is torn in the middle.
