United Kingdom. British South African made Mark II, MK-II or MK-2 helmet with original liner, chinstrap and paint. The helmet is the model made in South Africa, which is rounder than its British namesake and includes three rear holes to attach a sun protection band. The interior is a MK-II marked “7 1/2” in reference to the size, “Jager-Rand” for the manufacturer Jager Rand (Pty) Limited and “1943” for the year of manufacture, also of South African manufacture. The chinstrap is an early model MK-II. The sand-colored paint is original and corresponds to the color used by British soldiers in North Africa. Original WWII helmet.
