United Kingdom. Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) awarded in 1944, from the period of George VI. With original case.

British military decoration instituted in 1918 awarded to members of the Royal Air Force for an act or acts of valour, courage or devotion to duty whilst flying in active operations against the enemy”. During World War II, 20,354 DFCs were awarded.

Medal made of silver. On the obverse, an airplane propeller, with wings and the RAF symbol crowned in the center. On the reverse, the Royal Cypher “GRI” (George VI Rex Imperator) and the date of establishment of the decoration 1918. On the lower part the date of award of this medal: 1944.
