The Military Cross was the second highest decoration in the British Armed Forces during World War II. It was awarded for “an act or acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land” to all members of the British Armed Forces.” During World War II only 10,776 MC were issued.
British medal made of silver. On the obverse is the royal cypher GRI (George VI Rex Imperator) and four imperial crowns on the arms of the cross. On the reverse the date of granting 1945.
