Description
Helmet with the union of the rim in the frontal part and the hook of the chinstrap built in a single piece and welded, both characteristics of the M-1 model 1941.
The helmet has the inconspicuous pot marking “833B”, corresponding to the manufacturer Mc Cord Radiator Company and to the production of 1943.
The interior is complete except for the leather chinstrap, which used to break in daily use, and some fractures at the back. It is marked “F F2” corresponding to the manufacturer Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, who began manufacturing M1 interiors in 1942.
The previous strip with the serial number “W11-009-QM 16876 SMALL” is original but replacement and is part of the batch manufactured in mid-1943.
The front part of the lier is painted “Security Police” so its use was extended to the branch of the Military Police.
The chinstrap is the original quick-attach model.
The paint on the helmet is the original rough paint.
In 1944 all the changes of the M-1 model 1943 were implemented, so this 1941 model was produced exclusively during the period of World War II.
