USSR Soviet Union. Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class numbered # 83700. Type 1 (with pin) converted to Type 2 (with thread). This decoration initially consisted of a rectangular pin. With the model change, the pin (visible modification in the upper point of the star) was filed and the thread was added. It also keeps the two rivets on the reverse, next to the thread. The diameter of the reverse circle corresponds to Type 1. Awarded in 1944. Made in 14k gold and silver. The decoration consists of a red enamelled silver star and a gold outline with a rifle and a sword. In the center there is the hammer and sickle with the inscription ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА (Patriotic War) around it. On the obverse there is the stamp МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР (Mint) and the hand-engraved number 224335. This order was established on May 20, 1942 to reward distinguished servicemen on the battlefield during World War II. Total weight without thread 30.6g. Soviet medal of World War II.
