Receipt for the death of a legionary of the Tercio General Sanjurjo. 1938
Document of the Spanish Civil War. The General Sanjurjo Regiment, Tercio General Sanjurjo or Sanjurjo Legion was a republican military unit forced to fight for the Francoist side created in Zaragoza in 1936 by Colonel Pedro Peñaredonda. It had an attempted mass desertion or an uprising of the troops for which a large part of its members were shot. It is believed that more than half of the unit were executed, but it is still unknown how many, since the army kept it secret and to this day the files have not been opened publicly. In the summer of 1937 it became the XV Flag of the Spanish Legion.
