German bayonet from the First World War for the Mauser Gewehr 98 in 8 mm. This nickel-plated model with finer finishes was used for parades or ceremonies. It retains the remains of the guard ring, which were usually filed off or manufactured without.
Bearing the marking «W15» with crown, referring to Wilhelm II and the year of manufacture 1915. The blade is marked by the manufacturer «Alex Coppel, Solingen». Both the bayonet and the scabbard have numerous acceptance stamps.
