Germany. German bayonet Model 1898 n/A (neuer Art, New Art) in reference to the fact that the wooden handle is constructed in two pieces. Manufactured and marked by C. G. Haenel, Suhl. Also marked «B.3.R.6.75», in reference to «Kgl. Bayern. 3. Infanterie-Regt. 6. Kompagnie, Waffe Nr. 75″, that is, of the 3rd Bavarian Infantry Regiment, 6th Company, 75th Unit». On the counter edge it has the royal cipher «O (with crown)» by Otto (1886-1913) of Bavaria with the number 07 below, in reference to the year of manufacture 1907. It contains other «Waffenamt» markings on the handle. Model with the steel scabbard, more difficult to find. German bayonet from the First World War. Total size 68.5 cm, blade size 52.5cm, size without scabbard 65.5cm.
