West Germany. German-Made US M7 Bayonet
American M7 bayonet, manufactured in West Germany by the arms industry of Solingen. This model was introduced in 1964 for the M16 rifle and used during the Vietnam War. German production was undertaken for export contracts and licensed manufacture, including models associated with Colt.
The bayonet is marked “Solingen / West Germany / US M7” beneath the crossguard, while the scabbard bears the inscription “U.S. M8A1 Made in Germany”. The set corresponds to the American M7 system, designed for the M16 and also compatible with the M4 carbine and other models featuring the same mounting system.
