Germany, Third Reich / Spain. Condor Legion Gas Mask Reused in the Postwar Period
German M30 gas mask with the early narrow snout model marked “A1B 112.” The eyepieces are dated 1937.
The filter is the first model and retains the Luftwaffe blue color.
The spare eyepiece lenses (Klarscheiben) are dated 1935.
The container is the first model, manufactured between 1930 and 1935. It has the green color used by the Spanish Army during the postwar period, when equipment from the Spanish Civil War was repainted for continued use. However, beneath the green paint, traces of the Luftwaffe blue color remain visible.
German gas mask used by the Luftwaffe’s Condor Legion and later reused by the Spanish Army in the immediate postwar period.
