The People’s Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola (FAPLA, Portuguese: Forças Armadas Populares de Libertação de Angola) served as the armed forces of the Angolan government from 1975 to 1991 and were closely linked to the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA).
• 1975–1991: used by the FAPLA during the People’s Republic of Angola.
• From 1991–1992 onwards: following the dissolution of the FAPLA and the creation of the current Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), this type of badge ceased to be manufactured and was replaced by new insignia.
