Australia. Owen Mk I Bayonet.
The Owen Mk. I bayonet is a newly manufactured Model 1907 bayonet with a 254 mm (10-inch) blade and a 127 mm (5-inch) fuller. Owen Mk. I bayonets were manufactured at the Small Arms Factory No. 3 in Orange between 1944 and 1945, and at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory in 1953. The wooden grips were made by Slazenger.
The Owen scabbard is identical to the Model 1907, made in Australia, but shorter to accommodate a 254 mm (10-inch) blade. The bodies of the scabbards were made by Mangrovite, and the steel mounts by SAF-3, Orange.
The scabbard is made of brown composite material and was manufactured by Mangrovite. Markings: MANGROVITE 44.
