Spain. Car pennant or flag of the Communist Party of Spain (Partido Comunista de España) from the Spanish Civil War. The pennant (embroidered on both sides) was used on a car used by the Soviet advisers of the armored branch of the People’s Army of the Republic in Valencia. It measures 52 x 38 cm and the original pole is made of steel and measures 73.5 cm. It has some moth holes. The star, the letters and the Hammer and Sickle are embroidered in the chain stitch style characteristic of the 1930s.
