Sword bayonet intended for use with the short M1924 and M1930 rifles produced by Fabrique Nationale for export.
These bayonets were manufactured for use with Mauser rifles produced for export. This example is the long variant, which was the most popular type.
Pre-war bayonets had bright metal finishes with a blued scabbard. Post-war customers were offered different finish options (for example phosphated, paint over phosphate, or blued). FN continued producing military Mauser rifles for export until the late 1950s.
