Croatia. Beret Badge of the HNO (Croatian National Resistance).
Hrvatski narodni otpor (HNO) was a Croatian political organization founded after WWII, led by Vjekoslav Luburić. The goal was to restore an independent Croatian state and collapse Yugoslavia. Its military wing, Drina, was active until the 1970s. The HNO had branches in North America, Australia, and Europe. One of its principles was the reconciliation between Ustaše and Partisans.
After Luburić’s death in 1969, internal conflicts arose. Members organized the assassination of a UDB agent in 1971, and despite being sentenced to life, they were freed after hijacking a plane in 1972. The organization officially dissolved with the establishment of the Independent Republic of Croatia.
