Honorary distinction that was established by the National Union of Civil Defense Workers that is awarded for an outstanding labor, social, political and revolutionary career, as well as an exemplary attitude and consistent with revolutionary, ethical and social principles. Also, the years of service in the Union are taken into account. Men must accumulate 25, at least, and women, 20. It was promulgated to honor the memory of Emilio Bárcenas Pier, who was a member of Column 6 Frank País of the Rebel Army, led by then Commander Raúl Castro.
