Republic of Cuba, Insignia of the Czechoslovak Exhibition of 1961.
Painted aluminum with a dove and the flags of the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia and Cuba.
The Czechoslovak Exhibition of 1961 in Cuba was a significant event in the context of the Cold War, especially considering the relations between the socialist bloc and Third World countries. This exhibition was organized in Havana during the peak of the Cuban Revolution and was a display of cooperation between Czechoslovakia (part of the Soviet bloc) and the Cuban government of Fidel Castro.
After the 1959 Revolution, Cuba aligned closely with the Soviet Union and the countries of the socialist bloc. This led Cuba to organize several international exhibitions with the participation of Soviet bloc countries, aimed at showcasing the virtues of socialism and the technological, industrial, and cultural capabilities of these nations.
