Czechoslovakia. Army Officer’s Belt Buckle, 1919–1948.
Spona československé armády první republiky.
This buckle was used by officers of the Czechoslovak Army following the creation of the Czechoslovak state in 1918 and remained in use until 1939, when the country was invaded by National Socialist Germany.
After the war, it continued to be used until 1948, during the Third Czechoslovak Republic. With the establishment of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (ČSSR), the symbolism was changed, and the crown above the lion’s head was removed.
