DDR German Democratic Republic (GDR). Model 47 Bayonet for the Kalashnikov AK-47 Assault Rifle.
Knife-type bayonet intended for the 7.62 mm Kalashnikov AK-47, designated in East Germany as the Maschinenpistole Kalaschnikow (MPi-K).
The East German Modell 47 was a version of the Soviet 6Kh2 (6Х2) bayonet. It is distinguished by its black plastic grips, without markings on the crossguard and a grey webbing belt attachment.
This model was manufactured in East Germany approximately between 1959 and 1965. Its distinctive grip and mounting arrangement resulted from the bayonet being adapted to the AK-47 after the rifle’s original design.
German Democratic Republic bayonet from the Warsaw Pact period.
