Spanish Civil Guard Officer’s Girdled Sword or Espadin. 1844 Model. Variant of the Second Republic. Model used only from 1931 to 1939.
Girder: Made of gilt-plated brass, with a cross of two flat hawks decorated in a specially decorated manner.
Double-shelled sword with the arms of Spain on its front, under a mural crown and surrounded by oak and laurel branches, along with the initials of the Civil Guard, «GC.» Chiseled rim in both the central and upper parts, pommel decorated with symbols of military triumphs, ferrule, knob, and handle made of rich ebony wood, with gilt-plated wire.
BLADE: Straight, almost foil-like, with ridges in the first third and three double-edged tables on the rest of the blade.
SCABBARD: Made of black leather, with gilt-plated brass rim and ferrule. The button of the strap has a decoration with the sun in the center, used for suspension.
