United States. US M1 helmet M 1973 model with camouflage cover
The steel shell is marked “2491,” from the manufacturer Parish Division of the Dana Corporation, which produced M1 helmets during 1968 and 1969. It also bears the ink marking “R.D.J,” likely the initials of its wearer. There is a dent on the top of the helmet.
The liner is marked “M 1 1” from the manufacturer Marmac Industries, which was awarded the production contract in 1972. The liner fabric bears the marking “Suspension assembly for liners, ground troops helmet,” characteristic of Marmac Industries. It does not retain the sweatband or the chinstrap.
With the camouflage helmet cover.
