United States. CVC T56-6 Tank Crew Helmet with Microphone, Vietnam War
The CVC T56-6 (Combat Vehicle Crewman) helmet was designed as protective headgear for armored vehicle crews of the United States Army. It was widely used during the Vietnam War by the crews of tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other armored fighting vehicles.
This model features a laminated fiberglass shell covered in olive drab fabric and an internal suspension and padding system designed to protect crew members from impacts inside armored vehicles. It retains its integrated headset and microphone, allowing communication between crew members through the vehicle’s intercom system.
