United States. Navy Occupation Medal. 1947. US Army of Occupation Medal.
The Navy Occupation Service Medal was a military decoration of the United States Navy, awarded to commemorate the service of Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel in the occupation of certain enemy territories during World War II, and recognized the personnel who served in the European and Asian occupation forces during and after World War II. The medal was also awarded to personnel who served in West Berlin between 1945 and 1990.
A person cannot be awarded more than one Navy Occupation Service Medal. The Army of Occupation Medal is equivalent to the Navy Occupation Service Medal. No one can receive both the Army and Navy occupation medals simultaneously.
