France. Lapel Badge of the French Legion of Combatants
Lapel badge of the French Legion of Combatants (French: Légion Française des Combattants), a veterans’ organization established by the Vichy regime in August 1940 during the Second World War.
The organization primarily brought together French veterans of the First World War and subsequently also included veterans of other conflicts. Its structure was associated with the regime of Marshal Philippe Pétain and it was used as an organization for the political and social mobilization of veterans.
The reverse bears the manufacturer’s marking «BERAUDY-VAURE-AMBERT J. DECAT ABREST VICHY», identifying a manufacturer established in the Vichy area.
