France. Five-Miniature Medal Bar of a First World War Veteran
French medal bar composed of five miniatures corresponding to
the Croix du Combattant, established in 1930 for holders of the Carte du combattant;
the Médaille Interalliée de la Victoire, awarded to those who participated in the First World War under the conditions established for the French medal;
the Médaille Commémorative de la Guerre 1914-1918, instituted by the law of 23 June 1920 to recognize participation in the Great War;
the Ordre de la Santé publique, established in 1938 to reward distinguished services in public assistance, hygiene and child welfare;
and the Ordre des Palmes académiques, in its form as a ministerial order established in 1955 to recognize merits related to education and culture.
