France. Model 1845 Infantry Adjutant Sabre, 1878
This French sabre is the Model 1845 for infantry adjutants or NCOs, modified with a metal scabbard featuring two suspension rings.
On the ricasso, it bears the marking: “Manufacture d’Armes de Châtellerault – Juillet 1878 – d’Adjudant d’Infanterie modèle 1845”, indicating the manufacturer, year of manufacture, and model.
The hilt and the scabbard share the same serial number “13095”, along with several acceptance stamps.
It retains the original gilt sword knot.
