Médaille Commémorative d’Afrique du Nord.
This is the North Africa Commemorative Medal, a French decoration established in 1997 to recognize military service in Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco between 1952 and 1962.
The design features a stylized four-pointed star on the obverse and the inscription «République Française» around the edge.
The medal is generally struck in bronze and is suspended from a ribbon with a blue and white chevron pattern.
In 2002, it was replaced by the Medal of National Recognition.
