French helmet, model 1926, used by the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War.
This helmet was acquired by the Government of the Spanish Republic from France to equip the fighters of the Popular Army of the Republic.
It does not have the front holes for the branch badge plate used by the French Army. This hole-less version was used exclusively during the Spanish Civil War, especially by the International Brigades.
The helmet no longer retains its original paint or liner. It does retain the four fittings used to secure the liner. The crest is original, of the rounded type, but the original rivets have been replaced. On the upper inner part, it has eight 4-mm ventilation holes.
