French Model 1926 or M26 helmet used by the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War.
This helmet was acquired by the Government of the Spanish Republic from France to equip the combatants of the People’s Army of the Republic.
It lacks the front holes for the weapon plate used by the French Army. This model, without these holes, was only used in the Spanish Civil War, and especially by the International Brigades.
It retains much of its original green paint and the original chinstrap. The liner is missing, and the side rivets were modified to support the chinstrap.
