These Carl Zeiss Jena 6× military binoculars (Doppelfernrohr) were manufactured during the First World War for use by the Imperial German Army. Carl Zeiss 6-power binoculars were renowned for their outstanding optical quality, durability, and precision, making them standard equipment for officers, artillery observers, and infantry units.
This example is dated 1916 and retains the markings of the renowned manufacturer Carl Zeiss Jena and the model «D.F. 6x», one of the principal suppliers of optical instruments to the German Empire during the war. Its all-metal construction and prism system provided a bright, sharp image even under battlefield conditions.
