The units of the Freikorps fought against the communist and Spartacist attempts following World War I. The Freikorps were paramilitary groups primarily composed of war veterans who fought to defend the established order in Germany during the turbulent years immediately after the war. The Bayerische Einwohnerwehr Bayernwacht was one of the formations that emerged in the Bavarian region, dedicated to combating social chaos and revolutionary insurrection. This arm insignia was worn as part of the uniform to identify members of this group.
