Germany III Reich. War Helper’s Hat badge of the RADwJ (Reich Labour Service Female Youth) Reichsarbeitsdienst weibliche Jugend War Helper’s Badge (Hutabzeichen).
The RADwJ is an abbreviation generally referring to one of the divisions of the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD), or «Reich Labour Service,» under the Nazi regime in Germany. The RADwJ was the female section of this service, aimed at young women aged 17 to 25, who were required to perform war-related auxiliary work, both in construction activities and in the fields.
The RADwJ was not only dedicated to physical labor but also tasks that promoted self-sufficiency and the moral formation of women within the context of the Nazi regime. It was created as a means of integrating women into the war economy while instilling values such as discipline and commitment to the State.
