Germany. Prussia. M1915 Uhlan Tschapka Cavalry Helmet, Other Ranks’ Model (Tschapka für Ulanen)
Prussian M1915 cavalry helmet worn by Uhlan regiments (Ulanen), part of the light cavalry. It retains the Prussian eagle on the front and the cockades on the sides, bearing the black and white colours of the Kingdom of Prussia and the black, white and red colours of the German Empire. It features the leather chinstrap used on other ranks’ helmets and retains its leather liner, although it shows wear consistent with age and use.
Unlike the Pickelhaube, the Tschapka is distinguished by its flat, square-shaped top.
Original Prussian M1915 Tschapka helmet from the First World War.
