Germany, Third Reich. German Gas Mask M38 with Decontamination Bottle
This example is a German gas mask Model 1938, made entirely of black rubber. The filter is the “FE 41” model, retaining its black ink stampings with the eagle. Inside it bears the marking “flr” of the manufacturer Dräger-Gesellschaft mbH, Wien. The number “3” on the front indicates a large size.
The snout is the third model, marked “42” referring to the year 1942, and features the identification number “752.”
The replacemnt lenses (Klarscheiben) are marked “Kug 1943.”
The canister, in its original paint, is the long model used until the end of the war in 1945. It still retains its straps with a rubber piece marked “EBD 44.”
Includes a decontamination ointment bottle (Hautentgiftungssalbe) dated 1943.
