Germany Third Reich. German Red Cross Enlisted or NCO Visor Cap, 1st Pattern
This German German Red Cross (German: Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, DRK) visor cap is the 1st Pattern, used between 1935 and 1938. It can be distinguished from the later pattern by its upper front insignia. Although a new insignia was introduced in 1938, these earlier caps continued to be worn throughout the Second World War.
The interior bears the maker’s mark of Carl Schrom of Borna. The leather sweatband is inked with the owner’s initials, «A. H.».
The cap retains its original leather chinstrap.
