Germany Third Reich. Hitler Youth Knife by Puma, RZM M7/27 1938
WW2 German Hitler Youth knife or machete (Hitler-Jugend-Fahrtenmesser) with double markings: the marking “PUMA / SOLINGEN GES. GESCHÜTZT”, referring to the manufacturer Puma and the abbreviation of gesetzlich geschützt (“legally protected”), indicating that the product was protected under German law; and the RZM M7/27 1938 marking, identifying Puma as the manufacturer and 1938 as the year of production.
It retains the original Hitlerjugend diamond insignia and the scabbard with its leather retaining strap.
For an unknown reason, the crossguard was cut down and filed.
