Membership badge of the Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend-Mitgliedsabzeichen), the youth organization of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) during the Third Reich period (1933-1945). This insignia identified the wearer as a member of the organization.
The badge features a distinctive diamond-shaped design with metal borders, divided into four enamelled sections alternating red and white. At the centre is a black tilted swastika, set against a white square, characteristic of Hitler Youth symbolism.
These badges were manufactured under the official control system of the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM), the organization responsible for supervising and regulating the production of insignia, uniforms and equipment for NSDAP organizations.
This example bears the marking “RZM 75”, attributed to the German manufacturer Otto Schickle of Pforzheim.
The badge represents a material record of the organization and uniform regulations of the Hitler Youth, an institution used by the National Socialist regime for political indoctrination and the pre-military training of German youth.
