Germany Third Reich. NCO Dress Bayonet
The NCO dress bayonet (German: Extra Seitengewehr für Unteroffiziere) was a presentation sidearm worn by non-commissioned officers of the German Army (Heer) during the Third Reich. Unlike standard combat bayonets, these examples were intended primarily for ceremonial wear and were carried with dress and service uniforms during official occasions.
Manufactured with a nickel-plated steel blade, black grooved Bakelite grip plates, and an eagle-head pommel. The scabbard is finished in black lacquer.
This example is the pattern issued to Heer NCOs, one of the most iconic edged weapons of the German uniform during the Second World War.
