Germany Third Reich. Silver Wound Badge by Glaser & Sohn
The Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen) was a military decoration awarded by the Wehrmacht during World War II to soldiers wounded in combat or injured by enemy action.
It existed in three grades — black, silver, and gold — depending on the severity or number of wounds received, and could also be awarded posthumously. The badge has an oval shape and features a German military helmet and swastika over two crossed swords, surrounded by a laurel wreath.
This example is the Silver Grade and was manufactured by Glaser & Sohn of Dresden, bearing the “L22” maker mark.
Original German decoration from World War II.
