Germany Third Reich. Wehrmacht Infanteriemesser 42 Combat Knife
The Infanteriemesser 42 combat knife (German: Infanteriemesser 42) was introduced by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War as a sidearm for infantrymen and other German Army personnel. In addition to its potential use in combat, it could also be employed for a variety of field tasks.
This model features a single-edged steel blade with a spear point, a straight steel crossguard, and wood grip. It was carried in a steel scabbard.
The Infanteriemesser 42 was manufactured by several German contractors during the war, with minor variations in finish and markings depending on the manufacturer and production period.
