Germany. Third Reich. Winter Relief Badge Depicting the Flag of the Führer Escort Battalion
The Winter Relief badge of the German People (Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes, WHW) belonged to the small items distributed during fundraising campaigns organised by the National Socialist regime. These badges served as tokens acknowledging a donation and were not military decorations.
This example depicts the flag of the Führer Escort Battalion (Führer-Begleit-Bataillon), a Heer unit responsible for protection and security duties associated with Adolf Hitler and his headquarters.
