Imperial Germany. Kriegerverein Gustedt 1895 badge. Manufactured by A. Dreyer Fahnenfabrik Hildesheim.
Patriotic badge of the veterans’ leagues, Kriegerverein or Kriegerbund.
The Kriegerverein Gustedt 1895 badge refers to a commemorative medal or insignia from a German veterans’ association founded in Gustedt, a small town in Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), Germany, in the year 1895. These societies, known as Kriegervereine, were quite common in the 19th and 20th centuries, and were made up of war veterans, especially those who had participated in the Napoleonic Wars, the German unification wars, or later in the First World War.
