This badge was created in 1910, with two categories: «Preferentes» and «Ordinarios.» The «Preferentes» wore a royal crown at the top of the insignia, while the «Ordinarios» only wore the badge, made of gilded or polished brass.
They continued to be used until the era of Franco.
