Spain. Long-service badge of the Guardia de Franco, formally known as the Regimiento de la Guardia de S.E. el Jefe del Estado.
The Guardia de Franco, formally known as the Regimiento de la Guardia de His Excellency the Head of State (1939–1975), and previously as the Guardia Mora (1937–1958), was the elite unit responsible for the personal security and ceremonial duties of the dictator Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War and the dictatorship. This force, initially composed of Moroccan Regulares, ensured the protection and official protocol of the Generalísimo.
Regiment of the Guard (1939–1975): After the war, the service was formalized, with the Regimiento de la Guardia de His Excellency the Head of State becoming the unit in charge of the dictator’s permanent security until his death in 1975.
