Socialist Yugoslavia. Order for Bravery, numbered #39447
The Yugoslav Order for Bravery, established on March 15, 1943, was a military decoration created to honor outstanding acts of personal courage in combat or highly dangerous situations. Awarded to both individuals and military units, this distinction recognized heroic deeds carried out in defense of the country, especially during World War II and within the context of the partisan movement.
The obverse bears an inscription in Serbo-Croatian which translates as “Death to fascism” and “Freedom to the people.”
