Japan. Greater Japan Women’s Association Badge with case, 1942–1945
The WW2 Dai Nippon Fujinkai, or Greater Japan Women’s Association, was a Japanese women’s organization established in 1942 by government order through the merger of three previous associations (Aikoku Fujinkai, Dai Nippon Rengo Fujinkai, and Dai Nippon Kokubo Fujinkai). Unlike its predecessors, membership became mandatory for all married women, reaching approximately 20 million members.
Its main purpose was to mobilize women in support of the war effort: promoting austerity, increasing production, supporting the military, and spreading state policy. It also organized campaigns, raised funds, and carried out activities to replace men sent to the front. Additionally, it published the magazine Nippon Fujin between 1942 and 1945.
Comes with its repaired original case.
