Imperial Japanese Navy trophy featuring Admiral Togo Heihachiro.
Togo was one of Japan’s national naval heroes for his participation in the Boshin War of 1868-1869, the First Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, and the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905.
This type of trophy was awarded for naval maneuvers conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy in preparation for war.
It is marked “Showa Year 16 [1941] Naval Maneuvers Trophy” on the back.
