Japan. Killed in Action (KIA) Badge with case, 1931–1945
The WW2 japanese Killed in Action (KIA) badge was awarded by the Izoku-kai, a government-sponsored organization operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Welfare.
In addition to the badge, the family of the deceased soldier received a pension (depending on rank), a lump-sum payment, government compensation, funeral expenses, a free (or sometimes discounted) train pass, and assistance with children’s school enrollment.
Comes with its original wooden case.
